說明
Early warning system on Introduced Species in Wallonia is a presence-only dataset aimed to deliver in real time the occurrence records of introduced species within Wallonia. Data are aggregated from various online recording systems that are maintenaid by the Département d'Étude du Milieu Naturel et Agricole (SPW-DEMNA).
Among these encoding systems, we find OFFH (Observations Faune Flore Habitats), the main occurrence encoding platform for the department experts and partners. But also specific surveys on exotic species (e.g. on the Giant Hogweed) open to the general public and thus based on citizen participation.
As this dataset aims to feed an alert system on exotic species, it also include non-validated data and attention should be paid to the validation status of the records!
If you have any return or remark, please do not hesitate to contact the Department for further details.

分類群涵蓋範圍
introduced species from Wallonia. The dataset covers both plant and animal species mentionned as non native by the Global Register of Introduced and Invasive Species - Belgium, and within other shorter listings. As mentionned in the basic metadata, this watch list also includes taxa that should not be considered as invasive for the entire wallonia/Belgium but from which the distribution dynamics are monitored.

計畫資料
The spread of invasive alien species (IAS) is not hampered by administrative borders. Aquatic IAS, in particular, spread rapidly through the hydrographic network. To effectively control such species requires coordinated management at higher spatial scales. LIFE RIPARIAS (Reaching Integrated and Prompt Action in Response to Invasive Alien Species) aims to achieve such coordination across regional borders in Belgium, supported by open data and open infrastructure for early warning and management reporting. LIFE RIPARIAS aims at improving decision making on IAS management, early warning systems and management reporting tools. To this end, it develops an evidence-based workflow, translating national management objectives into concrete actions in an efficient manner. Ultimately the project aims at increasing the conservation status of aquatic and riparian habitats. More information on LIFE RIPARIAS is available at the project homepage: https://www.riparias.be/. We would appreciate it if you follow the GBIF citation guidelines (https://www.gbif.org/citation-guidelines) when using the data. If you have any questions regarding this dataset, don't hesitate to contact us via the contact information provided in the metadata or via www.riparias.be.

研究設計描述 | LIFE RIPARIAS focuses on aquatic and riparian plants as well as crayfish species located in the Dijle, Mark and Zenne river basin of the Scheldt district in Belgium. Cumulative observation data collected in 2000-2015, completed by data gathered from field surveillance in 2021-2022, will provide the baseline to design management objectives and define quantitative targets. |

取樣方法
Data are derived from a variety of contexts, including structured or targeted inventories conducted by the Department's experts and partners, their opportunistic observations, as well as citizen science via online survey modules targeting invasives and facilitating their participatory monitoring
研究範圍 | Wallonia, southern Belgium. Data derives from diverse encoding facilities, all managed by the Département d'Etude du Milieu Naturel et Agricole (SPW-DEMNA). |
---|---|
品質控管 | Validation of each record is an important part of DEMNA-SPW's data policy. All raw records are submitted to a validation by biodiversity experts of the department. This validation can be based on a photo, on the observer's expertise or on plausibility. However, as this dataset serves as an early warning system, it also contains UNVALIDATED data and special attention must be paid to the identificationVerificationStatus field. |
方法步驟描述:
- Field data collection from various protocols and frameworks
- Encoding in departement data systems (OFFH,'enquêtes invasives, etc.)
- Automated fusion of records from the various systems
- API for a DWC-formatted exports of exotics species records, updated daily
