Description
This Lepidoptera and angispermae occurrences dataset was compiled by the non-profit association Natagriwal (https://www.natagriwal.be/). The data were collected in plots of agri-environmental measures or during restoration of Natura 2000 habitats in Wallonia, between 1988 and 2020.
Data Records
The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 79,815 records.
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

Project Data
Natagriwal is a non-profit association whose main mission is to inform, advise and supervise farmers, foresters and public/private owners in the implementation of the agro-environmental program and the European ecological network Natura 2000. Natagriwal Brings together agro-environmental consultants (or "MFA advisers") and "Natura 2000 advisers" whose activities cover the entire Walloon Region.

| Study Area Description | Wallonia has its own Natura 2000 network, with 240 sites covering an area of 221000 ha (13% of the territory), with 75% of forests (30% of the forest area of Wallonia) and 15% of grassland (5% of Agricultural areas in Wallonia). The target habitats are, for example, luce beech forests, limestone lawns, peat bogs or lean meadows (see list of "habitats of community interest"). Some data are not collected from Natura2000 areas, but but are based on field studies carried out by the scientific support unit in order to assess the effect of the management measures proposed within the framework of the EAW or Natura 2000. |
